UAE participates in 101st session of Permanent Committee for Arab Media in Manama

The UAE participated in the 101st session of the Permanent Committee for Arab Media in Manama, Bahrain, as part of the preparatory meetings for the 54th Arab Information Ministers Council meeting set to be held on 29th May.

Maitha Majed Al Suwaidi, CEO of Strategy and Media Policy and Secretary of the UAE Media Council, said that the UAE has a unique media experience based on advanced strategies and a supportive digital infrastructure for sustaining the development of the media sector in light of the huge technological advancements witnessed globally, which enhanced the country's stature as a global hub for the media industry.

She also emphasised that Arab media plays a pivotal role in raising social awareness about crucial issues, especially amidst the current circumstances the world is undergoing, which necessitate a reliable media capable of delivering constructive messages that support Arab national strategies aimed at achieving further progress and prosperity across various fields and sectors.

The agenda of the Permanent Committee for Arab Media meeting includes following up on the Arab media outreach plan abroad, including adopting the statute of the observatory and the integrated platform, the Arab Institute for Peace Journalism, and the recommendations of the Arab Electronic Media Committee.

The Permanent Committee discussed the best ways to implement the phased plan of the joint Arab media strategy to combat terrorism, in light of the adoption of this strategy by the 33rd Arab Summit in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and other issues on the agenda.
